As another school year gets into full swing, we wish all the best to our Genesee County high school students embarking on their senior year and beginning to make plans for beyond high school graduation. We have officially opened our next year of Wilsterman Scholarship applications and invite all Genesee County seniors to consider applying, as well as current or prospective college students who have graduated from a Genesee County high school within the last six years. Please take note of our updated due date - March 1st!
As the Wilsterman Scholarship has become more well known to our local students, each year has seen an increase in the number of applications we have received. Last year we received over 460 applications, and, as each application is individually and carefully read and reviewed by each Advisory Committee volunteer, this increase has resulted in a need for a bit more time to work through all of the applications. In order to keep to our timeline of announcing scholarship winners at the end of May/beginning of June and having scholarships in the mail by mid-July, we have decided to amend our due date and move it up by two weeks and it will now be (and will hopefully remain for the foreseeable future): March 1st.
